Sanchari Kundu

Sanchari Kundu is a Ph.D. student in the School of Plant and Environmental Sciences at Virginia Tech, pursuing a degree in Crop and Soil Environmental Sciences. She is advised by Song Li.

Kundu's research focuses on plant genomics and phenomics, specifically in understanding differentiation in plant roots through confocal microscopy and single-cell RNA analysis. She utilizes image segmentation techniques to study plant root structures and applies spatial transcriptomics to explore gene expression at the cellular level. Additionally, she investigates plant nutrition stress using hyperspectral imaging, aiming to enhance crop resilience and soil health.
