Melike Yildiz Aktas
Melike Yildiz Aktas is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Computer Science. Her advisor is Chang-Tien Lu.
Her research interests lie in urban computing, social networks, and humanitarian logistics. She focuses on leveraging advanced methodologies, including Graph Neural Networks (GNN) and large language models (LLM), to develop innovative solutions for complex, data-driven problems. She is particularly interested in combining NLP and graph learning techniques to address challenges in social media analytics, the study of low-resource languages, and urban systems.
Atkas' goal is to contribute to the development of smart cities, playing an active role in their advancement.
