Leanna L. House
Leanna House is an associate professor of statistics. Prior to joining Virginia Tech, she worked at Battelle Memorial Institute, Columbus, Ohio. She received her Ph.D. in statistics from Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, and served as a post-doctoral research associate in the Department of Mathematical Sciences at Durham University, Durham, United Kingdom.
She has authored or co-authored more than 40 journal articles and has served as a statistical collaborator for 13 successful grant proposals (totaling approximately $6 million USD) awarded by the National Science Foundation, the U.S. Office of Naval Research, and private industry.
Her research interests include Bayesian statistical modeling with an emphasis in visualization, uncertainty analyses of simulation experiments, and health, as well as, probabilistic/algorithmic techniques for data mining and data visualization that foster human-computer interaction and advance education in data science.
