Tian Shi was a Ph.D. student in the Department of Computer Science.  His advisor was Chandan Reddy. Shi’s research focuses on natural language processing, data mining, and machine learning with their applications in E-commerce.

Shailik Sarkar is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Computer Science.  He is also pursuing the NSF-sponsored UrbComp certificate. His advisor is Chang-Tien Lu.   Sarkar’s research focuses on spatial data mining and application of machine learning in health analytics.

Chih-Fang Chen was a master’s student in the Department of Computer Science. His advisor was Chang-Tien Lu.

Kai-Hsiang Cheng was a master’s student in the Department of Computer Science. His advisor was Chang-Tien Lu. Cheng’s research interests are applied machine learning and data mining.

Brian Keith was a Ph.D. student in the Department of Computer Science. He was advised by Chris North.   Keith’s research focus is online information narratives, in particular, how to represent, extract, and visualize them. He is also interested in analyzing how misinformation spreads in these narratives.
