Joseph Messou was a master’s degree student in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering.  He was advised by Jia-Bin Huang.

Jonathan Baker was a Ph.D. student in the Department of Mathematics.  His advisor was Mark Embree. Baker also earned the graduate certificate in the Urban Computing program. His research interests lie in spectral theory in linear dynamics and control, passive source localization, and machine learning.

Aman Ahuja was a Ph.D. student in the Department of Computer Science. Ahuja was advised by Edward Fox. His research interests lie in the field of machine learning, with emphasis on document understanding, search and retrieval, and question-answering. He focuses on improving the accessibility of long PDF documents, such as books and dissertations.

Debanjan Datta was a Ph.D. student in the Department of Computer Science.  He was advised by Naren Ramakrishnan. Datta’s research area is data mining and machine learning. His areas of interest are algorithms on text and numerical data.

Tyler Chang was a Ph.D. student in the Department of Computer Science.  He was advised by Layne Watson. Chang’s research is in approximation and optimization, sub-fields of numerical analysis. He works on applications in aircraft design and computer systems modeling.

Thomas Lux was a Ph.D. student in the Department of Computer Science.  He was advised by Layne Watson. Lux was also an NSF Research Trainee in the UrbComp program. Khoa Doan was a Ph.D. student in the Department of Computer Science.  He was advised by Chandan Reddy.

Nikhil Muralidhar was a Ph.D. student in the Department of Computer Science. He was advised by Naren Ramakrishnan. His research interest is in leveraging machine learning to address problems in the urban landscape. Muralidhar also received a graduate certificate in the NSF-sponsored UrbComp program.
