Ali Vakilian
Ali Vakilian is an assistant professor in the Department of Computer Science at Virginia Tech and core faculty at the Sanghani Center.
His research spans algorithms for massive data, learning-augmented algorithms (a.k.a. algorithms with predictions), and trustworthy machine learning. Before joining Virginia Tech, he was a research assistant professor at the Toyota Technological Institute at Chicago (TTIC).
He received his Ph.D. from the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at MIT, advised by Erik Demaine and Piotr Indyk, and an M.S. from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where he was named a Siebel Scholar.
